CURATORIAL PHILOSOPHY

My curatorial philosophy stems from the identity that I have embraced in my professional career. In my scholarly activities I perform multiple roles: from curating exhibitions to managing and administering them, and from teaching about display and art to teaching scholarly research and artistic presentation. Curatorship (especially within an academic context) is a complex and multidisciplinary eld that mirrors the intricacies of contemporary social life. Today the university curator assimilates multiple identities, and I see my eld of action structured in accordance with four major areas of activity: practice, teaching, collection, and research. These areas interact and overlap in my daily activities in order to produce the gure of the “curator-scholar.”
